Sport: Badminton
Beverages: Wine / Champagne
Equipment: Wine Glasses, Dixie Cups (Flutes and Decanters for the snooty wino’s)

History:

Badminton was originally played in Ancient Greece, and was a kids game called Battledore and Shuttlecock. Later it moved to India and was called Poona.. (what weird names!). Later it came to England, and then quickly spread to become a world favorite, joining the Olympics in 1992.

Preparation:

Determine which team you want to be on.  Open your bottle of wine… Badass Badminton is a lot faster paced than you would imagine.

General Rules:

  1. If your team scores a point.. Cheers! - swirl and swig
  2. If your team wins a game (21 points) or a match (2 out of 3 games).. Cheers! - swirl and swig
  3. If the score becomes 20-20 or 29-29.. Cheers! - Everyone swirl and swig
  4. If your team bashes an opponent in the face with the shuttle cock.. Cheers! - swirl and swig

Alternative Rule:

  1. If your team shuttlecocks the net, pour a glass for your opponent (who must drink)
  2. If your team drops the shuttlecock, pour a glass for your opponent (who must drink)

Who Wins?

If your team wins, you win!   Give a hip-hooray for your Country.

If your team loses, you lose! Give a bottle of wine to your opponent, and Cheers him/her for their victory.
